"In my lifetime of seventy years, I always felt that someday, someway, my prayers and wishes would come true. I tried very hard never to give up my hopes and dreams, even though, there were many times I felt hopeless and wanted to give up. I felt there was no light at the end of the tunnel, and would think, How do I find the strength to continue on? How do I raise a special-needs' daughter whose has multiple health issues and behaviors as well? Her diagnosis is developmental disabilities with a mental capacity of a child.
There are many quotes and sayings you hear or read that say, “Once you give up you've failed, or you’re hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life.” My favorite saying always was, “Your toughest situations build strong people in the end.”
Every day, I would pray to the Universe to help me help her and find a way. The daily struggles of getting us through life were almost intolerable. As she became an adult, it became harder for me to continue to take care of her. I needed to find a home for her to live, but how do you give your special daughter to someone other than her mother to care for her, plus another place to live?..."
